exactly...ocells have bars extending all the way down, those stop at half way.

Here is an example of my ocells:
Great pics MFM that fish nearly has the exact markings head shape and finnage as yours!!!!If youll notice in nearly every pic the fish is leaning to one side or the other making the bars seem to be shorter.Actually i like your ocells a little better fishmaster

Exept no gold around the bars!

Yea it is leaning but still those bars are too short.....but i will agree with u about the head shape

With out a doubt, MFM's ocells are Guyana Ocell's, great looking fish by the way. But, you will also notice ocells share the same visual characteristics as each other. The gold around the black is one of the signs they share. Don't know where OP's bass came from, the origin, history, etc... Could well be a F198463 batch of Puerto Rico cross Hawaii cross Florida ocell for all we know.

Thanks for all the feedback. In conclusion, I have no idea where this one came from other than the lfs (Ocean's Socal). It definitely has gold around the black spots, and I do agree with the above in saying that the bars are shorter than MFM's Guyana O's. This guy likes to face forward in the tank so it is hard to get clear side shots, I'll try again tomorrow.
