If you don't know, my male convict killed my female, he's 4", she was 2". They were in a 10g, and again, I can't get another fish tank. So today I'm going to the lfs. Should I get another female, or just a new pair?

why dont you just get a bigger tank?
10 gallons is really small. 4" is pretty large for a 10 gallon.

Then dont get another fish if you know your overstocked. If your going to insist on getting another breeder for the con get a divider so after the fry become free swimmers the female wont get killed. And lots of water changes.
