Something else you can do if you're not keeping any corals is grow out macroalgae in your display, I have a video of a 90G I had set up much the same way.

what about the sump are you confused on besides the dividers?

thats pretty much it, the dividers. do they determine the water level? or is that controlled by a valve on the intake and exhaust.
