Another nut with a gun.

Hello; This may have been one of the places that restricts the carry on the property. Here in TN a bill was introduced that would have allowed victims to sue such places ( Places that do not allow those with a legal carry permit to do so.) The bill has not as yet made it into law.

yup he was, SK most states but not all make it illegal to carry a gun whither open carry or concealed in a bar, night club, event of more than 200 and alcohol is served. In addition stores can post no fire arms allowed, this is not law and the most they can do ask you to leave. at which point you must leave or be charged with trespassing.

I can understand the law concerning drinking at bars and night clubs and packing a gun, drunk and armed do not go together.

in my case I am licensed and choose to carry at all times, I may go to a restaurant and eat and have a beer in the dinning area, but can not go into the lounge, I also make the choice to not go to establishments that do not allow weapons. Being armed is a responsibility, if you can not or are not willing to take on that responsibility then best just leave it at home. Safer for you.

I support people's right to carry a firearm as those people have gone through training and regulations to be deemed(for the most part) safe and sound to have the responsibility of handling a firearm in public. What we need to be concerned with are the nut jobs who are not licensed to carry a gun.

As for the sinfulness of a bar scene....that is debatable; I am sure all of us over the age of 18 have been to a club. Human nature and consenting adults having a good time; besides not everyone views this behavior as "sinful". As for the evil of the shooter....yes another prime example of hate and ignorance fueled with a firearm. Really a shame what the country is coming to these days.

Exactly, we have all engaged in behaviors that were perhaps not the best for us but when someone decides that they are going to consciously and maliciously harm another person that is not seeking to hurt them then I feel like that crosses over from "sinful" and into the realm of evil

regardless of what I may think of some ones life style, these kind of actions are reprehensible, whither a school full of kids, a office building, theater or night club none is a better choice or less vile action than the other.

That's what has always confused me about "hate crimes"
killing someone is bad no matter who it is or why they did it

in the case of killing some one, its more of a tag line, can they add on extra penalties? sure, but still doing time till you die, or get the shot of love.

as for none lethal assaults or property dmg, the charge can carry allot more weight in time you will serve. different than just a crime of opportunity.
