Sig Sauer MCX was the exact weapon. The AR15 has become the symbol of the evil black rifle.
I wouldn't be opposed to no fly-no buy

Hello; It is my feeling that any ban on "Assualt weapons" will have some issues. First being that the term will be streched to cover a great range of types. I refer back to my example of the Ruger 10-22. The 10-22 is a 22 rimfire caliber rifle and was lumped into the ban that went into law in Australia. As you have pointed out there is not a clear distinction among many people as to the specific machine. The AR has been mistakenly named when it was not in use. Any such ban may likely become a blanket ban on any semi-auto loader.

The bigger issue may be that such a ban will use an already flawed no-fly list system. An example of such problems is that senator Ted Kennedy was reported to be on such a list in the past. These lists are also reported to be compiled in secret and not in an open way. My take being that many find out they are on such a list only when they attempt to fly. Some reports have people being banned from flying for the simple reason of having the same name as someone else.

again as I stated I am not a fan of assault rifles. Yes I know folks hunt with them, but this was not what they were intended for. I do not see them outlawing semi autos. regulating mag size, yes, increasing and better control over who can get them? yes. but I do not see semi autos getting banned.

i don,nt feel that folks need to have a weapon that has a 50 round mag, I can use a 22 round mag in my glock 27, would I do it, naa. do i want to naa, if 9 in the mag plus 1 not get the job done, remove the threat, one of is either dead or just lousy arse shooters.

Happy Fathers day all. As I stated earlier please do not ask for bans on certain weapons governments use this against us. A ban on one type soon become a ban on all. The problem is people have to be more diligent when they notice changes in family and friends. Even with this though many get carried away and others get hurt. There were many tell tale signs with this nut but no one did a thing.
Lets face it the government knows everything we do and they were aware of this guys issues but nothing was done. These soft targets will always be targeted until they are not soft targets. One armed security guard at the door is not much security as was proven. This guy probably could have killed this many with a knife in that club. What would people be yelling for then.

the biggest thing I see coming from all gun redirect is a boon in gun sales, mag sales and amo sales.

People are more concerned with hurting someones feelings rather than reporting something. Meanwhile they get better treatment here than in their own countries. DHS has closed investigations out of fear that it would insult non radicals.... one of those closed investigations were tracking movements in a mosque that the san bernadino shooter frequented, no doubt this almost intentional lack of seriousness comes straight from the top

News reported friday that major gun manufacturers have had record profits and stocks have been soaring under the supreme leader

Yes I know folks hunt with them, but this was not what they were intended for.
Hello; The bolt action rifle is often thought as the benchmark hunting type. My take is that the early bolt action rifle were military designs. Many of the military Mauser type bolt action rifles were modified by civilians for use as hunting rifles back in the day. The same sort of thing is going on with the Stoner AR type platform. As a shade tree mechanic I often modify a tool or use it for some purpose other than it,s orginial intended purpose.

Hello; I like the six shot revolver because they can sit around for years with no springs under tension and a misfire can usually be resolved by pulling the trigger again. If i could have a 22 shot revolver, then I would. I do not have any way of knowing ahead of time how many threats will be present and I do sometimes miss. The main advantage, to me at least, of the semi-auto pistol has always been the greater round capacity. In my experience the semi-autos can be very picky as to the type of ammo used and are subject to misfires/misfeeds (stovepipes, double feeds and such).
Having a large round capacity does not mean all the rounds must be expended. Having plenty of rounds left after a threat is removed sounds like good insurance to me. That i can say "to each his own" is currently true in Tennessee. That someone could at some time tell me what type machine I must use and how much capacity it can have does not appeal.

you can always carry more mags. :)
