With the demise of LFS, it's a good thing that Walmart and Petsmart provide such good advice for new fishkeepers. Otherwise, our hobby would be in real trouble...

this thread made me puke in my mouth abit.. this is why i drive 45 minutes to a great private place instead of 10 to the petco or petworld usually. their prices are also lower then anyone else in the area.

Yeah,we used to really have some nice stores throughout the city but one by one they are dropping off.

that's what happens when you don't support local business.

Not only that but in this case the changing of the neighborhood to more low income residents who may not have the disposeable cash to spend on pets,possible mismanagement of the new owner,I scratched my head at a few things he had done around the store,and,as mentioned earlier,the good old economy...I will miss the place mostly for the one "fish guru" who ran the floor.

I hate it when local lfs close , we used to have TONS of them here ,sadly ,no more

Corbins closed not too long ago. That place was amazing, it was like an old mom and pop pet store accept on steroids and run by weird people. RIP Corbins sorry I missed the clearance sale.

Same, but its Jack's here running out LFS's not Petsmart. But at least Jack's occasionally has decent fish.
