Another one bites the dust...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the only external pump ive used is my Blueline HD. but, I only use it as my top off water pump from the garage, so it doesnt see much use, but its worked well for the few years ive had it. I find its pretty quiet, but have nothing to compare it to

I'm using mine for a closed loop as well, Ive been pretty happpy with mine so far. The only issue ive had so far is the power supply overheating that one time (however my entire stand is wrapped in a tarp which keeps the heat in), now I'm running a desk fan in there and its all working fine.

Thanks Savannah, my power supply looks quite different for the waveline 12000. The one you looks similar to my other less powetful waveline.

Of course id want to verify proper volts and what not.

View attachment 1224973 View attachment 1224983 We've got a Reeflo Hammerhead/Barracuda Gold Hybrid running on our 600 gallon FRT tank. It IS built like a tank. I prefer the pumps with the Baldor motor (100% made in USA and 5 year warranty). The Hybrid pumps come with 2 interchangeable impellers, which will give you less or more GPH, depending on which one you install.

I like your setup and plumbing Def. I need to contain all underneath the stand and probably give DC pump another try.

I just like the size for the flow, and dead silent. Just need something more reliable...we'll see...

I don't blame you. I love my DC pump that I run on our 265 gallon tank. I just hope mine lasts. The "feed" mode is awesome and I only have to run it at 50% to get the desired flow I need. Not having to gate a pump down via ball valves is pretty cool.

Yup. But the reality is I still have two true union ball valves on each end of the pump in case i need to take apart lol (closed loop)

It turns out that it was not my power supply. That leaves the controller and/or the pump itself as I'm told the controller will flash and shutdown if the pump impeller isn't freely turning. I was looking to replace the culprit and save the waveline for backup. We'll see...

But the replacement...
