Man i think it is a little over kill with all the 2x4s. I'd use 2x4 frame if i went over 600 gal, but anything under is fine with 3/4 ply. Check out my build.. simple, fast, and seriously strong. no bowing at all and no 2x4s. you can see how i used strips of ply for bracing and more surface to screw.
I also see you used two layers of high grade plywood. that ply here runs 43-46 dollars a sheet. and I like the way to 2x4x look. but on the front of your tank, what is the " surrounding, how much is left after you cut out the hole for the glass
No i didn't use two layers of ply.. if you look at the thread you can see i re enforced the sides and back with 4" strips of ply.. not another full layer..
I didn't cut out for a glass frame.. i framed it in with 2x4s. giving me a 3' lip all together.. and a 1 1/2 lip to glaze the glass too..

.. Did you cut the 4" ply pieces yourself? do you have more pics of that? I also PM'ed you... Sorry for derailing there for a sec...I think your on the right track....
