another question... possibly a stupid one!

You want it close to the main water level most cases, so you don't have the "falling water" sound. I see you only have 1 hole, what are you doing for returns?

yeah one box each side. one has outlet one has outlet and return. quieter the better I guess so ill make it higher.

thanks. im really pleased with it. drains are inch and a half return is just over 3/4. cant wait to assemble the pipework-not

1.5" drain can handle tons of flow, so all is not lost. My only question is why is the return in an overflow box by itself. If there is not a drain in the box (or weir) then won't waste just slowly build up in there since there is no way for it to get out? Why wouldn't they just do a bulkhead near the top with no weir? I'm just confused by the tank design I guess.

the return is in a weir alongside the second waste. ill be running a 6000 lph pump so hopefully the 2 drains will cope with that without having to throttle it back

Ok, I missed in your other post that you had 2 drains. Now I understand. With 2x1.5" drains it should easily handle twice the pump you suggested.

thats good. gives me the option of an upgrade if I need it later
