i think it must have something to do with the locale of the strain. i've always wondered the same thing balton so no, it's not a silly question!

personally i prefer the thicker facial wormings like GREENTERRA's dovii.

Interesting, I thought for sure everyone knew except me haha.

Don't you mean that Dovii has facial and gill spots, not lines? He also has the football shaped body.
it does indeed have a deeper body indicating costa rican, also if you look closly, most of those dots are joined together..

No more than my Dovii's are. Mine has a lot of little wormy-like markings but no where near the major network of conjoined lines some have.

As with Balton, I couldn't say? Far from F0 being here in Australia. They have not been allowed to be imported for quite some time now.
The other difference I have noted before is the size of the spots within the scales especially closer to the dorsal fin.

I guess that might rule out the F0/F1 theory. Maybe it's a regional thing or maybe just some have them and some don't.

Your Dovii is a good looking specimen. I want to say thanks again for letting me use his picture.

My male dovii has the same patterns as Greenterra and mine came from over east Australia. I think the bloodlines over here are all closely related
