So I will be getting a 150 gallon tank to add to my collection. :) Reason being is I have 2 oscars in a 100 Gallon tank at the moment with a bunch of other fish. "See tank stocking below"

  • 2 Oscars
  • 1 Firemouth
  • 1 Red Terror
  • 1 Green Terror
  • 1 Electric Blue Aacara
  • 2 Convicts
  • 2 Jack Dempsys
  • 1 Pleco
  • 1 Blood Parrot :( He came with the tank
Now my question is what Fish should I take out with the Oscars and add to the new 150 Gallon tank. And what are some other fish I can add to the 150 gallon tank with them.

"Also if I do remove more fish from the current 100 gallon tank what would be some suggested fish to replace the ones I remove.?"

Personally would just put the Oscar's in the 150 gallon for 3 reasons they are prone to HITH, their heavy bio-load, and their size when mature.
OR you just get rip the oscar and open up much more option with vast variety species :p
Yeah this is one bad thing about Oscars. Don't get me wrong I like my Oscars but at the same time it makes it so you can't have very many fish. Especially since it's a 150 Gallon tank it seems like a waste to have only 2 or 3 fish. :( So let's go a different route say I do eliminate the oscars what would be the best stocking suggestions for the 150 gallon? "Something that I can have alot of fish instead of just a few".

I would also take out green terror and blue acara because the other fish mentioned are in a different class when it comes to aggression. The only way I see tranquility in that tank for them is if they are much smaller and not only they hide/escape easy but the other don't look twice since they offer zero threat. Possibly if green terror is much larger and been established longer and has unusual attitude he may survive the long haul with red terror, Dempsey, etc.

The green terror is actually the largest of the group other than the Oscars. Blue acara I agree he is not aggressive at all and runs quite often and hides.

Just from a geographical point of view, the South Americans, ((oscars, GT, acara, and red terror (if a festae) and the pleco belong in the same tank)).
The JDs, convicts, and the FM (and if the red terror is a uropthalmus) all being Central Americans belong in another.
I realize the pleco are now invasive and moving north, but I am in theory a purist,
and politically speaking, the BP being a mutant aboration, belongs in a fake cichlid tank all to itself.
