Another stupid mistake

sorry about my deleted post. If you didn't read it, never mind. I've got my fingers crossed for your little guy. Keep the updates coming.

 :(

How big are they? Hopefully the perch will pull through. This doesn't give me much hope for ever finding a tank mate for my jar.

If shes floating upside down Doesen't that mean her swim bladder is busted?? I myself have never had a fish recover from a busted swim bladder. And or recover from being beat so bad that the fish was floating upside down. Last time I had to sadly see that, I put the fish in ice water and in the freezer. If they can recover from that, witch I dont think so, I sure would like to know how to treat the fish if it ever happends again TKS

In my mind Nile Perch are an introduced species into the Great Lakes of Africa. They then eat all the native species and reak havoc. Therefore, I think they are trash fish. But I spose any fish with a mouth as high as 4" has a place in the tank.

Actually, I have seen documentaries on how the Nile Perch is being wiped out by over fishing. So people introduce Nile Perch as a source of high protein food, and they destroy the native fish population. Then we destroy them with overfishing. Nile perch are awesome fish and have their place in Monster keeping, I just wish that people would make better decisions in stocking fish in places where they don't belong.

I hope your perch pulls through. Too many great monsters have been lost here recently.

not meaning to horn in on a sensitive subject, but how did you fasten her into place? May I see a pic? My apologies if my request offends.

no requests offend, my friend, much less when they're politely made. we fasten the fish ( regrettably have done so in the past already ) with eggcrater pieces or styro, so that the fish is forced to stand in the upright ( normal ) position.
Another member Filiportela once did it with a piece of wire forming an embracing ring around his aro, with the wire ends going into the styrofoam box walls.

Most of them made through, with added salt and melafix and current.

Sory, no pixs because camera is travelling at the moment..
