if you like sand no problem go with it the Carib sea doe have sand available for fw fish as well. i do agree with Estes too know long time ray keepers that have good luck with it. my only problem is sand getting in my filters and and loosing sand during maintenance.witch is not a problem to some and not even a issue to others.

Yes, I've looked around here for carib sea moonlight and no-one has it. I can't find estes sand around here either. I know I can order it online, but its already pricey, and I'd rather not pay shipping because since gravel bags are heavy it would probly cost a lot.

(Sorry to change the subject, but I did start this thread) Stingray guy, if your aquarium that you posted on page 4 had a hairline crack in the black plastic on the bottom of the tank, what would you use to seal it?

hey. use a plastic welder. it would just melt the plastic back. then get a thin 1/8inch plexi or acyclic and bond it down. ive seen it done on DAS tanks. good luck

Wow! That sounds a tad advanced for me. What about epoxy putty? Also, I found some stuff called ASB cement. I think the bottom of those aquariums is ASB plastic. But, this stuff is made to seal ASB pipes.

i would really use a thin piece of plexi.. say the crack is 7inches long. then get a 10"x10" and glue it down with fish safe glue.

Just go to a marine store and get 3M marine grade epoxy, it's white and is applied like silicone and is fish safe have used this for my rubber vats works perfect
