Seems like the Reptiles and exotics forum has been a little slow lately, so I though I'd show you all some pictures of my new/old turtle!
My dad found this female box turtle back in '96 on the road, recently hit by a car or truck. Her plastron (part of shell touching the ground) was split bad in two spots and she had a small piece broken off the edge of her carapace(top shell).
I nursed her back to health after a couple of months and I put a splint on her plastron to hold it together. It worked great! When my cousin was visiting that summer and she fell in love with her. She asked if she could keep her and I said sure if you can provide her everything she needs. I gave my Aunt and Uncle the layout of how her cage should be and a list of food and other things. They ended up making a very nice setup.
Needless to say that was a while ago and now my cousin is off to college and can't take care of her anymore so she dropped her off at my house and now I have another female to add to my breeding project! This turtle (Her name is "Shelly" lol) is in great shape and you can't even tell where her plastron was cracked. Enjoy the pics!
