True intermedias bars are all the same size accept the ones that are on the back of the body, because that part of the body gets small and goes into the back tail. That's my 2 cents just thought if share this info with you.

It very well could be Joe .....Something still has me perplexed about these tho My Xingu Bars come from the top of the body more or less While Cj's and these pictures from China The bars seem to come or grow from the Lateral line as an Intermedia should My male and a female Also when comfortable they show almost nothing for bars!!! The bars just look diff!!!

Very nice fish! Well, don't forget. There are 3 different types of xingu type bass. The rio xingu is 1,700 miles long and branches off into a lot of tributaries. Upper, middle, and lower xingu all have bass im sure.

As for the bars on these guys, if you look at some of the pics of cj's, the bars inbetween the 3 main bars are starting to fade out a bit and are the the same size as the 3 main ones. Intermedias bars are all the same size until you get to the back of the body where it gets smaller.

I think the ones with lots of bars are xingu III like these guys. Only time will tell! :) nice fish regardless

I thought the three different xingu was just there different development stages. Not different fish. Maybe someone can clarify that. Either way these are all amazing looking fish and look forward to there development.

No there are 3 different types of bass from rio xingu. All beautiful :)

x2 on the development stages,imo most adult Xingu end up looking just about the same with only differences being between genders.
