I have to agree with troutking as well. The PFS we have on the west coast is all brown or tan, your looks great. Jealous....

No kidding? I would think it would mostly all come from the same manufacturer. I have gotten several remarks on this PFS. I never thought much about it besides it NEVER gets stirred because its so heavy. I almost think its too white. I have quickrete all purpose sand in my other tank and I like it more because of the different colors mixed in and its darker. Looks more natural to me, although it does stir.

I have been on a white sand quest for a while now and just bought the quickrete yesterday. Glad to know your using it as well. Thanks for the heads up!

If im not mistaking, Quickrete also makes a basic 'silica sand' that comes in 70lb bags and i am pretty sure it looks similar to my 125 sand. I almost went that route on the 75.

I bought the quickrete "medium sand" (brown bag, green writing) in the 100 lbs sack. I figure 75lbs for the 125g and 25lbs for the new 55g. At $8 per 100lbs I can get more if I have to.

How old are your g. Dicrozoster now? The colors are looking great.

I got 3 of them and one is super green and the others are coming along. They are coming up on 5" pretty quick. Maybe just a touch smaller than that.
