So what could you breed Chris' fry with? I just bought some. First off, what will the fry look like. Secondly, I have a male escondido. If i breed Chris' fry to my male escondido, what will this fry look like? Sorry for all of the questions.

It's all line breeding. A good start would be carpinte X king kong parrot. Then when you get fry from that pair cross a fry back to one of the parents. After that it's up to you how many times you want to line or inbreed them.

At this point anybody wanting to breed red texas should just order from cjbarth IMO. Then you can cross those fry with whatever you want and skip the first step. You can either breed them with parrots / texas / or red texas from a different batch for good results.

Personally I would try to find a fertile male and cross him with a king kong parrot. If you breed a female with your escondido you will probably end up with a lot of escondido looking fish but the percent that will fade (if any) will be low. I can't say what anything will look like. You'll have to try it to find out. Red texas really isn't my thing but I know a little bit about them. I know some of the overseas breeders will use just about any faded female red texas but they will use the brightest faded male they can find. IMO I think you would have best results if you had a male rose queen X female red texas.

If you could find a fertile male Red Texas, then the obvious choice would be to breed it with a Red Texas female since the majority of Red Texas females are fertile.....

Only problem is red devil genes are strong and most of the time come out dominant, they usually take on a lot of the red devil head shape etc..
Whats wrong with red devil head shape?
