no they are not. i dont think any gar here in the states is considered a "gamefish". i'm not sure about the tropical or cuban though.

nice florida/spotted too.

gator gars (i believe) are bumped up to a gamefish status in parts of their range...it's a catch and release fishery at this point for the most part--
