Another Wolf I.D. :)

It looks lac. Can u get a closer shot straight away like out of the tank? Just want to make sure the angles not obscuring the ID.
 
Can u give some background info? Where did u get it from? A collection area if able? What was it bought as?
 
Was labeled as a Wolf Fish, which leads me to believe it's a Mal...but seeing as this species can fool a lot of people, who knows. Plus, It doesn't look washed out and pale like most common Mal. You want a photo of it in a net? What small identifiers are you looking for? So as to get the best angle.
 
It's definitely not mala. If u can hold it upside down with a closeup. Looking for the jaw folds and how they look and looking for pores. Some light on top of it. Looking straight away at it. Like the pic below and with more light on it. Need to look for tiny holes running along the jaw.

These wolves can be hard to ID but looking at urs it's either lac or intermedius. Straight away shot will tell us and a pore count will usually put an exclamation point at the end.
 
Ok this is clearly why these kind of photos are needed. It's a mala can see the 4 pores and folds. Sorry iron maiden the folds were too open when in the tank. Here's a lac to compare to.
