Its the substrate your using, its trying to camoflage with the sand, even if you use black sand it will just get wash off, its better to use red sand, red gravel or garnet sand.

aww...after i used black sand, my lap showing his patterns little bit brighter than before..But this guyz not ..:(...Itz hard to find red garnet sand in here..thanks bro for your tips...

Can you find any bring color sand or gravel? I know it wont look natural as garnet sand but if you want the marking to pop out more you'll need to use a bright color gravel.
Just a example of my old red gravel.

Marking will color up more. Black sand will make the poly black, white sand they will look pale, for Some UJ black sand is nice, for delhezi and senegal i like white sand, but for all LJ you'll need a color they cant blend in.

very nice marking bichirs. Yeah i can find red or blue sand ..But also i like natural tank setup more than markings..:(..That why not using it..But if i find Red garnet ill definitely Buy it..

Yup all in the sand. Dont worry about the lap it will look good on red substrate as well

Lap already showed markings from this setup also..why ansorgii cant..:(:(
red garnet is natural look and i like .But red and Blue sand is not for me..Currently, have black and white mix. So ill add more black and check the marking. If itz not pop up at least little bit, ill think about red sand again.

Lap Markings in this setup. Not clean and sharp markings like yours..but also not completely washed out.
Just don't care the endli's markings. I think with any sand he looks like that.

Bottom pic is a red garnet, J jaws7777 might be able to help you find garnet sand, but depends where you located at.
Have you check peace river substrate, DMD123 DMD123 and J jaws7777 using them and they bring polys marking out too, and the are natural substrate if you cant find a garnet sand.
