I downloaded AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition 7.5.519 when I saw it this morning (Thank you) and started the scan. It's been 9 hours and it's still scanning is this normal?

I'm not sure, for me it scans very quickly. However I just reformatted my computer, so not a lot on it yet.

I don't know crap about computers. It took 9 hours and 45 min to get the scan done. It said it scaned 175,000 files.
