i have a beautiful pair of freddies, and despite all my efforts, continue to spawn. does anyone have any idea on how to stop them from spawning without separating them? even if i remove a place for them to spawn, she will lay eggs right on the substrate.

alternatively i though about setting up a 30 gallon and feed the fish in there the fry from the freddies. are there any piscivores that would fit in a 30g? doesn't necessarily need to be ca/sa cichlids. african cichlids or characins would be ok if they can fit in a 30.

Maybe add some fish... ha. I had some texas that were like that in my 125 but I added a Jack, Oscar, and convict, and the just stopped.
GL with the anti-spawn.

Hard to stop mother nature bro.

pike cichlid will take care of them qick but the parents might take care of the pike cichlid

A pleco would raid the spawn at night and eat the eggs.
