Anubius problems

nitrite is more toxic than nitrates, yes

Actually the way it goes is as such

Harmful or not
Ammonium is not (NH4+)
Ammonia (NH3) is harmful

Ammonia/ammonium concentrations are based directly on temperature of the water. The warmer the water the less it ionizes with ammonia as the cation reaction is endothermic. If the water is warmer than the ammonium, then the ammonium will draw energy from the warm water, cooling it, and de-ionize into stable ammonia.

Nitrite (NO2-) is harmful
Nitrate (NO3-) is not harmful

The reason for this is because Nitrite is a highly reactive base where Nitrate is a salt.

Now many people say that Nitrate can be just as harmful, and that's true under certain circumstances. Nitrite is a major component in Nitric acid formation, however, at the correct temperatures (about 70 degrees F to 89 degress F) Nitrate can also become Nitric acid, however, the real danger with Nitrate is the fact it reduces oxygen levels in the aquarium as it displaces O2 in aqueous solution.

Yes, I'm a nerd.

^ no you're not you know your stuff.
My tank Ammonia NH3/ NH4 0%, Nitrite <0.3% (whish is almost 0%), P.H about 7.5 to 8. Nitrate i don't have a test kit and i don't do temperature because i live in the tropics.

Ok, do you dose ferts of any type or just let the tank roll along as is?

Also, I'm not sure if you posted it before but what's the livestock look like in the tank?

1 Arowana and now 6 loaches, there was a big cichlid parrot but he's gone.
I have 2 12000K tubes which i've been leaving on all day and one at night. A vendor at the local fish market told me it's the lights that's causing the problems. She told me to give the 6 to 8 hours full light a day.
I do use fert, it natural liquid called "Plant Plus".
I usually put some in 2 times a week, I'm going to trim a little and obviously not use so much light.

Ok, there we go. Yes, I'd agree with the person at the LFS. 6-8 hours a day maybe up to 10 with one bulb, but there should be definite light and dark cycles.
