anxiety?

My buddie had the same problem, they put him a a couple other drugs, after a few months a no good, they got him on zoloft, and it took about a month for any real noticeable affect, then after about 3-4 months he was pretty good.

It worked really well for awhile, I'd only get them maybe once a month. than it just stopped I guess, because i get it about 9 times a month now.

When i was 12 and first got them, they lasted for maybe 2 years straight. than went away till i was about 16 and started again. and thats when I went on meds.

My parents and friends tell me that I get angry, annoyed, almost bi polar alot, and I'm thinking its because the anxiety takes a toll on me

Paxil dude. If you want to try for a med that actually does something. Try Paxil. That was the only med out of about 10 that did anything for me. My Grandma takes it right now also now that I think about it. She has Agoraphobia. Ask the Head shrink about it.

Zoloft is the Ipod of anxiety medications.

You'll get the attacks down eventually. Believe me. It's more of a teenager problem. When you get older and see the world a little differently, it'll help. Alot of kids get them and don't tell anyone. You're not alone dude. Just relax and dont make it a big deal in your head.

Acutaine messes with your head man! You know it also causes birth defects? Whenever you give blood, that's one of the meds they ask if you're taking. They wont take your blood if your on it or have been on it within 6 months. There was a kid that flew an air plain into a building because of that medication. You should do some research on it. That med and panic attacks coincide dude.

My mom hasnt had it in like 4 months because the gym, my dad dosnt get it that often unless he drinks caffine. but his will wake him up from sleep sometimes. with me, it normmaly happens at night or in the morning. normmaly im ok once i get my workout done.

I just try to do alota projects and stay on mfk alot because it gives me something to do when Im not with friends or my girlfriend.

Yeah I know. You said you went 10 years with no meds and wished you had gone the other rout. I was just assuming you wished you had taken meds.

OH...Sorry for the misunderstanding...I am all better now, so that is where I got confused...My bad. Yes I do at times wish I went with the drugs, but I FULLY believe humans can self remedy most any mental hurdles...Which to me is all anxiety is....Good luck Matt.

Thats how I feel, I feel like I can fight this without meds... But i've tried sence I was 12.... and just said screw it....

normmaly when the attacks happen, I'll grab a book and go lay out in the living room with my parents and just read, I do anything and everything to just keep my mind off of it. the same reason I start to play computer games

Also, I would say try Xanax. It has a big risk of dependencies though. Good stuff. I sold it for a while when I was a user. I sold over 2,000 of them at $2-5a piece. You pop one of those things in your mouth, not only will you lose your panic attack but you'll lose the will to accomplish anything productive. lol

Panic attacks usually only last 1-2 mins. Making sure you keep telling yourself that helps. Also breathing through them with focused deep breathing helps me.

Zoloft will do nothing to help with panic attacks. What you need is to have some Xanax handy and if you start to feel a bit on edge take half a pill and within 20 mins you will be good to go.

What triggers the attacks? If you know you will be in that situation is when taking the xanax 30 mins before will help.

hahaha I know .

I have xanax handy my mom has it prescribed to her, I only take a half a pill when i have horrible attacks.

Most of the time my attacks last up to 20-30mins.
