Any Accountants Here?

I'm not an accountant but I definitely agree with jcardona1. My girlfriend works at PWC and I have also been a victim of picking her up at 2 sometimes 3 a.m. in the morning. 6 sometimes 7 day workweek. And the dreaded busy season... She's loving it though.

I think it all boils down to you loving what you do.

yeah it depends on the person. i was miserable while i was in public accounting, but i dont regret the time i put in there. now i work banker's hours, 40 hour weeks, take long lunches, no weekend work and i make more now with my experience than what i did at kpmg.

you gotta start at the bottom of the ladder somewhere and it will only get better

That especially applies when you start at a a big 4 firm.

maybe you could model??

I worked as a model at the Abercrombie and Fitch flagship store in Manhattan as well as taken pictures for Juicy. Fun...sure. Profitable? Not really. Maybe IFBB pro?

Great thread so far, btw. This is a huge help so far! I'm most concerned with finding a job when I wrap up my undergrad. I had intended on focusing on PR work, but job outlook is incredibly shaky and it makes me terribly uncomfortable.

I helped build an accounting system from nothing for a company that I have been working on their website for almost 2 years now. After coming from knowing absolutly nothing about accounting I can say it is confusing if you don't know what you are doing.

What schools should I look into transferring in the northeast? I'm planning on commuting from north Jersey. I'm leaning towards Montclair State University right now.
