For some context, my friend recently bought a pea puffer for his 5 gallon shrimp tank. He had told me he wanted a cool fish, plus he had a snail problem, so he decided to go off and buy a pea puffer. After it solved the snail problem, it started turning on his shrimp. now he is keeping it in an unheated fishbowl because, as it turns out he just wanted a disposable fish to solve the snail problem. he has been there for a while and I cant take him, so idk what to do with the little guy. any advice on what to do with him would be appreciated.

Call all your local fish stores. Start with the ones who aren't chain stores, they're more likely to be willing to take it in, but the people working at the fish department of a PestMart or whatever can also give good leads.

If you have Facebook or whatever ask on any local fish groups.

Petco will take the fish for free if they have a empty tank.
