Male moori, I've noticed ,get a reddish band along the anal fin. I would say egg spots are abnormal for moori.By the way, the red band fades as time goes on.Post more pics as the fish grows it may become more clear what species it is.
any body know what this is?

Do moori sometimes have a fiery orange glo or flash on their dorsal fins, almost like a reflection in certain light ? I have noticed this before on the fish . When he turns a certain way in the light a flash of bright orange flashes, then disappears. It only appears as flashes for a split second, never as normal coloration. When i look closely at his fin, there is never any hint of the orange. Only during these reflective flashes.
Never seen that.The way a fishes scales and fins are constructed you could get many different prisms or refractions from the light. I'm not lighting genius so terminology could be wrong. Could just be a certain way the fish turns and the light catches it at that angle.Nobody has your lighting or your fish so that one is difficult to answer without seeing it in person.
