I used to box, but dont have time to train anymore. if you want the hardest fighting sport, then take up MMA (mixed martial arts). check out UFC.

My cousins teaching my Maui-Thai, I'd actually get properly trained but mums worried I'll hurt some one... Thats the whole point! lol.

MMA isn't even close to being as hard as pro boxing. The fights nor the training regimes.

How does this make ANY sense when MMA encompasses all of boxing has to offer, and so much more?

I see alot of mma guys that box preaty good but i think they dont look fully trained like a sugar ray you know what i mean?they arent dancing around the entire time,i dont know,im just saying this, put a pro boxer against a mma guy and they can only box,i think the pro boxer would win,let a pro boxer do only graplin and i think the other would happen, mma guy would win,its just 2 different sports,i like both but i like the classy old school vibes of boxing, maybe i watched rocky too many times.

Its a shame those class old school vibes of boxing are dead. The sport has gone to ****.

WTF are you talking about?

In MMA you have "top" fighters that have trained for like a year :D

It's not on boxing's level, at least not yet. Boxers are some of the greatest athletes in the world. I've done both martial arts and boxing since about the age of 10.

MMA fighters usually fight 3 round fights, and they are gassed by the 3rd round.

They are not on the same level as top pro fighters.

How does MMA surpass everything boxing has to offer? The fact that they need less training, fight less rounds, and the top fighters earn 200,000 rather than 2 million?

If MMA has surpassed boxing, would you care to enlighten us on why MMA fighters absolutely **** all compared to boxers? You get undercard fighters on UFC cards fighting for ****ing 7 grand. That is not only ridiculous, but sad. They end up out of pocket after training medical expenses. Even crap journeyman boxers earn a living.

Boxing isn't quite as good as it used to be, if anything boxers get paid too much these days. MANY top fighters fight "not to lose" rather than fighting to win. And there's a lot of politics.

However, it's still a more established, more exciting, more professional sport than MMA. And at least fighters get paid fairly. UFC are absolute ****s. Pride were better for giving their fighters fair purses.

And make no mistake, only the heavyweight division has gone to ****. The other divisions are packed with talent. You've got Pacman, Marquez, Juan Diaz, Hatton, Mayweather, Calzaghe, Kessler, Pavlik, Cotto and many more from flyweight to super middleweight.

MMA is in its infancy compared to boxing, sure. I personally HATE Dana White and where the sport is heading. Pride was MMAs ticket to the big leagues, but that's no longer happening. A fighter's income has no bearing the caliber of athlete. The fact that someone is willing to fight for $7,000 while most boxers bring in 100x that only makes me respect them more. They do it for the love of the sport, which is more than I can say for 98% of the top names in boxing.

I guess the point is, I tend to align myself with MMA as I've spent a huge portion of my life fighting and practicing it. I'll give it to boxers though. I trained at a legit boxing gym over the summer and we had 14-16 year old kids coming from foreign countries that were the epitome of prodigies. They had an inherent fighting skill and I couldn't help but stand in awe of their passion and dedication. Shame that that passion dies when the first paycheck is cashed.
