any boxers here?

I'd much rather watch two guys doing ONE thing really well than sit through a long boring program of so called professional fighters in a mixed martial arts snooze-fest.

The background music should be "The devil came down to the playground"

What I see...in all honesty here is a group of guys seaking fame fortune and glory in MMA because none of them have what it takes to compete in main line sports. They havn't put in the time...training and effort it requires to even start the climb up the boxing ladder.

The only people making any real money off of MMA are the promoters and the networks.

I boxed many years ago all through school but stopped short of taking it professional so I am well aware of what it takes to make it in a very tough sport.

Boxing is a sport...Mixed martial arts is a sideshow that has a VERY long way to go establish itself as anything else.

I know alot of the ground work in MMA matches looks boring to the causal onlooker who doesn't participate in the sport but for anyone who has ever grappled a skilled opponent for any length of time you gain a deeper appreciation for the art. Give MMA some time and I think the sport really take flight. Its so new that right now there are few if any pure MMA fighters who grew up in the sport. Everyone is either a striker who picked up some groundskills or vice versa. IMO MMA is more exciting than boxing and I love boxing.
