winnie 6.jpgMe, my wife and my 8 month old son adopted a American bully x boxer mix from a local shelter in December. She was leaning against the cage in the shelter when I first saw her begging to be pet. Even worse was she had already had puppies at 7 months. I instantly knew she was the nicest and most gentle dog I have ever been around.

When we brought her home, she was mostly house trained, and after a week or so we got her trained to stay off furniture and sleep in her own bed at night. Its really great knowing that if my son tries to take a toy from her, or kicks her in the face on accident, she will just sit there and take it. All she wants to do is love. Don't get me wrong, she has done her fair share of damage from being a puppy (ripped to shreds baby mattress, couple of baby toy victims)

Without further a due, Winnie!

The topic has been on pitbulls/am staffs mostly, can I add my am staff/bullmastiff mix? This is Zeus, he was a rescue I got in and decided to keep, unfortunately he got really sick and we had to put him to sleep in the end. He was a good boy. After a few years without a bully breed in the house we finally rescued a female bullmastiff about a year ago and she will be two this spring. I quit doing rescue for pitbulls now because our city has a pitbull ban and I couldn't imagine having to give my dog up if they found out. People have been fighting the breed bans here strongly, but most just sneak them in since the cities don't enforce it much. I really just wish they would wise up and drop the bans.

nice looking dog u got there, yea i totally understand how you feel , the breed specific legislation is happenning across the country and it really needs to stop because its not fair to the bully breed to be singled out.
