Any car enthusiasts? modifiers? tuners?

It seems my life revolves around cars & fish (much to the dismay of my wife!)
Looks like I found the right community!

I'm a fan of the imports....but around here so many are pure crap wannabe race cars. Duct taped body kits, all primer, spray painted black hoods in lue of carbon fiber, all weather tires on stock wheels and HUGE mufflers with 1 1/2" pipes leading up to them.
Give me a nice R34 and I'd be happy. :grinyes:

Haha, you should see some of the shops I deliver stuff too. It's amazing whats on the road.

R34 = :drool:
I'd rather have a C6 Z06 for quite a bit less money though and it's much faster as well.

Went and test drove the new EVO mr the other day. Cool car.

My boss has an STi (he's had 3 now) and a friend has an Evo 8 so I've ben lucky enough to drive both. The Evo feels faster and bounces like a pogo stick (shortwheel base, stiff suspensions does that) and the STi is far more refined. It's easily much more livable day to day. It doesn't matter which one is faster, as they are so close it's entirely up to the drivers skills.

My boss loves his STi, drives it every day. Would you do the same if you had a 996 Turbo at your disposal? Says quite a bit about the car IMO. My friend is less than impressed with the Evo. He says it's fun, plenty quick, but he's had a lot of problems. Primarily the clutch.

Either way, they are both incredible cars for such a low price (relatively) and I really don't think anyone could make the wrong choice when choosing between the two. However, it'll be the STi for me. And when I have more money to spend, a Ferrari 355. I've wanted one since they came out.

My V6 Roush can pull a C6 with out breaking a sweat. They're nice and all....if you want to buy an "out of the box" car. I prefer to modify. Plus there's nothing like a power adder or two tucked under the hood.

I guess the problem over here is that so few have well done imports. They're not even worth messing with. When did WalMart become a performance shop anyway?

Texas has a handful of 1,200 hp Supras that are in full street trim.

hahaha what a look on clarkson's face!!!!

Do you mean the C6 or the C6 Z06? Big difference there.

There are a few high horsepower cars rolling around, just few and far between. Esecially when it comes to imports. Go for a drive down University Avenue on a Friday or Saturday night around the Snelling Avenue area, you'll find something.

do u guys also have street races there?

IMHO

street racing is lame. been there done that.

too many posers and dumb *** ricer kids at the street races who dont know what the F they're doing.
take it to the track, i had to save my pennies and dimes to go to the track and do it right.

(no offense?) not trying to start a fight

i wish i knew more about cars im a rock when it comes to cars but when it comes to fixing tanks im awsome lol

I've got roughly 600 to the wheels with the blower, and up to a 225 shot of nitrous (Nitrous Express). The car weighs about 2800 lbs and hooks up very well. Most production American cars don't play with me anymore. Come guys, it's just a little girlie V6 Mustang
