Any Dart frog Vivariums?

Put down a layer of polished river rock for drainage and "freevaporation" before you put down your sphagnum moss, THEN vermiculite/peat/soil/coconut husk/cypress mulch/etc. mixture.....that way any over-watering will drain into the rocks and not saturate the tank. 3 layers.....the 2nd, sphagnum moss will keep the top layer from mixing with the water ...just wet it and wring it out 1st before layering it down

You want them to stay MOIST......not wet.

I would use polished river rock, THEN Spanish/Sphagnum moss (the stringy stuff that shrinks when it gets wet), THEN cypress mulch, personally. By doing ths combination, you can actually bury a submersible filter at the bottom and not worry about sand/soil/peat/vermiculite/coconut husk clogging it up.

What kind of dart frogs did you get?
 
Nope. They are a different type Frank Castle Frank Castle

They are Ranitomeya Imitator "standard green". We have 4 of them so far.

That's news to me about the roots....I'm guessing there are different types, some considered what I've heard called "Air-plants" basically plants that don't have to have their roots in anything, but I never knew Bromeliads were like that. I'll have to do some digging.

To add to this...
Bromeliads and air plants are very different. Air plants are a sort of new trend because of how low-maintenance they are... You can just set them practically anywhere and provide water every once in a while (either by misting or by soaking them), and they thrive. However, I don't think they do particularly well in very humid setups. I typically keep them in open jars or in terrariums with my cacti and succulents (I have about a dozen terrariums with just plants and no animals lol).
I've always kept bromeliads rooted in regular potting soil or peat moss, but I believe they do just as well with their roots stuck into logs or bark as said, so I assume yours will all be fine.
If you've got any other plant-related questions, just hmu, I'm no expert but I'll do my best to help.
Also, while I'm here... Anybody ever heard of keeping carnivorous plants in a dart frog viv (or any viv for that matter)? Been getting into Flytraps, Sarracenia, and Nepenthes lately, and I know that amphibians are often known to hide inside pitcher plants... Thought it might be interesting to give it a shot
