Any disadvantages?

As above have mentioned they are more expensive per volume of water. The tank itself is more, the cabinets are more, an you need to protect your wall.

If you don't mind the extra cost per volume I think they look great.

What size are you thinking?

Yeah I don't mind the extra cost...plus I have a few friends who are electricians and plumbers so they said they will do most of the work I need done for free as long as I provide beer! haha.

I'm looking at a minimum tank size of 300 gallons but will most likely go larger than that...maybe in the 450-600 range.

I don't know for sure about where you are. But in canada you can get green drywall for shower and bathroom and it's mildew resitant

Yeah I believe I saw drywall like that here when I was at lowes the other day...gonna start pricing everything out once I know what I have to work with...should be moving into a house within the next 3 months or so.
