Any DIY's out there for suspending your light from the ceiling?

that looks really good, thanks for the pics. looks very easy to make too. question though, where can i find that cable and the little metal "crimps" that form the loop on the cable? is this something i can find at a lowes or home depot?
Ya you should be able to find every thing at a hardware store, the cable I'm not sure about the kind, but most hardware stores carry clothes line wire that looks the same.

Home Depot. 1 isle has everything. Be sure to get the plastic coated cable. The crimp bands are available for all cable sizes. Get more length of cable than you needs and 2 additional sets of crimp bands because you will mess it up the first time. I went through 3 messups before getting it right. Oh, get a nice sharp pair of metal shears for cutting through the cable.
just use monofilament fishing line...you will hardly be able to see it...

here's a pic of the PVC stand i made in the mean time. because of the way i made it, this thing is not gonna bend or bow. i dont think it looks that bad actually. already bought the cable and other material to suspend it from the ceiling...
