Any dorado updates

That's actually the passive Francy...... The one in the 750 is the dominant, better looking one. The one in the vid is all scarred down one side from the one in the 750.

Best I can tell the Brasy has put on about as many inches in length in a few months as the Francys have in the year that I've had them, but it does seem like these things slow down quite a bit after 8-10".

It's too bad this lil bugger is growing so fast...... The poor ATF never had a chance to keep up in growth rate.

Thanks Reed!!! The non stop activity will be kicked into high gear soon! This Dorado grew too quick to ever hope the ATF will work with him, so instead he'll be chasing a group of Tor soon..... Should be a sight!!!

Guess what I got in the mail yesterday? 3" bulkhead fittings If all the fish here would knock off the shenanigans, and the rays hold their pups maybe I'll actually get somewhere on that RFS we have been discussing.....

Wow dude, I've never seen my Dorado with a belly even close to as big as that Argy, and its not from lack of trying he just wont eat that much .... Awesome man, I can imagine his growth must be insane with an apetite like that ... tail seems to be showing that deep red more than the other species as well ... very nice fish

I've never had any of the probably dozen Francys I've raised swell up like this guy either. Even when keeping in groups and having the competition for food push them to breaching the surface when fed, they would all quit eating and start spitting the food out long before getting that fat. This guy just keeps eating till you quit feeding.... lol. He's not down with hand feeding yet. He'll snag food once it's dropped but won't come near the hand while holding the food.

Can't wait to see what happens with tank mates. Would be crazy if the 2 different species accept each other in the same way my Francys and Brycon accept each other.

Thats awesome man .... it shows that he doesnt quit eating! Hahaha, and my Franky does the same, eat a few pellets then starts spitting them out and he does like to breach for floating krill, but I dont feed that much anymore .... only time I've ever seen him stuffed (and still nothing like your Argy) was actually a mistake .... I've had this cheap bucket of small shrimp pellets I decided to try and use to get rid of it, but when I dropped it in the current blew it around all over and I was like ohhh jesus thats going to destroy my tank, was already planning on doing multiple water changes to clean it ... I went down in an hour to see how bad it was and it wasnt .... between the cats and rays I figured they'd eaten it, then I saw the golfball sized stomach on Dorado, I couldnt believe it! Maybe something to try for a little variety or pellet training

His name should be landfill. This guy has taken every kind of pellet I've offered.... Loves massivore, even cheap cichlid pellets and floating walmart pond pellets (just trying to find something he'd refuse). Not even calamari was refused.

Instead his name is Robert Paulsen. Cause the only explanation for his growth......... "He was a juicer" lmao.....

No worries there, I think he'd only get those IF he quit swimming. Flip side would be I'd actually get to take a picture of him. It's one thing to get pics with a crappy camera, but to get pics of fish that swim (Brycon, Dorado, and Tor/Masheer) with a crappy camera, I think I'd have better luck tracking down Marla Singer.....

Awesome news I have a couple schedule 80 3" damn things are huge, gasket looks like a mini bicycle tire haha.

Can't wait to see how it comes out and functions. Gonna need to get another filtration thread going soon. I should have some cool improvements/updates tested & ready to share by the end of the month.
