Any Failures with Eat or Die?

Not only with bichirs, I think with a lot of fish, the monkey see monkey do is the best way to pellet train a "new" fish. It really helps if you have a ravenous fish go really quickly at the food offered. I've noticed the other fish see that this one guy is a hog, and quickly learn to go after the food or starve.

I agree. Especially if it's the same kind of fish. They really watch the behavior of their tank mates.

OK, I know this sounds crazy, but sometimes Felix the Oscar or Buttercup the stripeless, yellow, red zebra will get fussy and not want to eat, for whatever reason.

I will take something like an M&M and a couple litle dog treats, and some fish food, and call the dogs over to the tank.

While the fish is watching I will eat which excites the dogs, and I will feed the dogs one at a time, the most excited dog last, and then I will feed the fish. This has worked for me several times

LOL . . . BTW, I have also done this with the cat, and the bonus is that the cat eats Cichlid Gold.

I had a bichir go almost 2 months without eating,i ended up giving in.

I have 3 bichirs all were raised on fresh fish fillets or shrimp. Just starved them for up to 1 week and put in carnivore sinking pellets and boom pellet trained
