Any freshwater large fish (MFK-like) magazine to subscribe to?

Firstly, I have a TFH subscription, but they have only 6 issues a year, half their content is saltwater, and most of their freshwater content is about small common tropicals.

What I am basically looking for is a freshwater only mag, with a focus on large fish like MFK (new world cichlids, aros, etc) and the trials and tribulations of their unique housing/feeding / filtration setup requirements, including things like how to manage their aggression, species compatibility, build tutorials on monster tanks, sumps, how to breed/grow your own food/feeders, power feeding, how to shatter proof your deco against large boisterous fish, tutorials on how to do massive water changes efficiently, etc. Sure I could find a lot of that info dispersed online including on this forum, but some of it would be unsourced, contradictory and of dubious reliability. I just like collecting quality, well sourced, photographed and dependable information on this sort of stuff.

I find that all the current fish magazines focus on commonplace small fish in standard tanks which don't cover any of this. There was a thread years ago about the possibility of an MFK magazine, but that was deemed impossible due to logistical/manpower issues.

Amazonas Magazine is all freshwater and has some cool stuff in it! One I had was about keeping monster catfish like red tail and etc..

I wasn't aware that TFH has gone down to six issues a year but you might want to look for some of their back issues that featured an article called Top of the Food Chain...each article under that title featured a different large or aggressive species and if I recall correctly the author was a member here.I have a few of them saved.
I can't think of any others.There used to be quite a few different magazines out there but I don't see them displayed at the shops anymore.

There's a book series. It's in japanese but, all the scientific names are also printed in english. There are tons of incredible pics in the series.

Wow! I would love to get my hands on that series! After searching though, looks like they have been out of print for years and extremely rare/basically unavailable anywhere. I would also need to learn japanese.

No one has to learn a foreign language anymore. There are numerous apps on the internet that provide translators and virtual foreign character keyboards that can translate text. Some are better than others and also take proper grammar into consideration. Slang and local terms have to be researched but, a proper translation can be made with little effort.
But, like you said, finding these books can be an issue (no pun intended).

Thanks for the recommendations Oddball. I've ordered the Jumbo fish and Tankbuster book (had to get 2nd hand as out of print). The Jurassic One is quite hard to find and very expensive to get to here.

They are like 25 year old books. I have books from that era, where everyone still used undergravel filters and fed their big fish beef heart regularly. I hope these old books still have relevant info on fish care. The problem is, we are such a niche market that no one is publishing new, updated books like these, which is such a shame. Must be because of the internet, I'd say. Even still, I expected some electronic versions of new books to be available as it wouldn't be hard to write a book that didn't need to be physically published eg., online kindle versions etc.
