Ive had a couple cichlids that haven't been growing much, they are in my 125. I clean it every week, but they still don't really grow, I'm beginning to think it might be the food I give them. What suggestions does every one have?

What kind of foods are you feeding? Have you seen them eat, and how often?

What species do you have? Some cichlids such as Green Terrors are notorious for growing at a snail's pace. Temperature can also play a role, with higher temperatures increasing growth rate. And, as Malawi said, food type is very important.

Texas, jag, Blackbelt, Jack Dempsey, and a Trimac, I feed them a mix of foods ranging from Trout chow to flakes. I see them eat their fills every day, 2 times a day. The temp in the tank is 82 degrees F. Should I increase their diet, buy new food, or what should i do?

I would try some other foods high in protein.. Try some pellets, floating or sinking, maybe even some frozen.. If you really want them to grow, a high protein diet, clean water, and tank space is what you need.. Though if you increase their diet, be careful for the waste they will produce.

I'll try a new diet for them. Does live food help at all? I will be trying to get a 180 g soon.

Why don't you try feeding them Beefheart?

They will love the 180g. :) I would use frozen foods over live.. Like krill or something. Just feed high protein foods, mix it up though.
