It depends on how you care for them, of course, but I think it takes a couple months or so, am I wrong?
Well thanks for the feedback everybody. Would a male and two females be good for breeding in a 10g? I also got a sponge filter, so I have to set that up. I figured that a 10g is too small for convicts to breed... oh well, one day.
Not really. Guppy fry are small so thus there is a larger brood. It isnt uncommon to hear of 100+ fry dropped in one go. My largest female (2.25") dropped 84 fry on her largest brood. That was her last. She died 3 weeks later.
Yup, that will work, put in plenty of Java moss or similar and it will be packed like sardines in a tin pretty soon
You might want a bigger tank depending on how many and how big you want to grow them, but I breed them in a 5gal tank. I just leave the fry in there untill they are big enough to handle a community tank.
