This fish was exported from Thailand. It's about 10 cm TL in photo I took this evening.
The dark blotch behind the head is much more distinct when it's not in fright coloration.

Profile is 'Hampala-like', but I am not clear on characteristics of some of the less common Hampala species.

Any educated guesses or hopefully a positive identification to offer on this species?

Thanks, Jeff

its really hard to tell on a 10pixel by 10 pixel pic xD but from what i can see, it doesnt look like a probarbus, nor a hampala ... can i call dibs? :D i love barbs.... but gotta see a better pic first ^^

Looks more like a labeo of some kind than any hampala or probarbus.

Looks quite similar to one I have, possibly a Labeo ruddi

Mine was advertised as a Bangana behri, but there is no visible groove across the snout like ones I have kept previously, even at such a small size. Do you have any better pics of the snout profile?

It's very interesting, that's for sure. It doesn't look like a Labeo to me, but it's a difficult angle to look at the mouth. Is it possible that it is a Neolissochilus species?

Of course, the best asked question in this thread is: When are they going to be for sale? :)

They are in my tanks. I want to know what they are, then would be happy to offer them for sale.
Immediately following are some more pics I took tonight - now that the fish are more acclimated and active today.

My email was temporarily handicapped, so had to use snap fish (that's the 1st photo post that I couldn't enlarge), then photo bucket.
Now that my email has been repointed/enabled once again, I can upload pics via my web page.
Here are a few more photos of these fish.

I'm really liking them. However, being the kind of guy that prefers order when referring to fish, I'd really like to get a positive ID.
I can't believe it's not been collected and catalogued already.
