Unfortunately, I put the divider into the tank too late. After only a few hours, the female red devil is pretty badley beaten. I have moved her to a 20G tank. She is lying on her side, still alive, but barely.

Any ideas to save the fish. It's very frustrating since they had spawned, without incident, on several occassions. Right now it's wait and see.

A photo of the culprit is attached.

i would like to see a photo of the victim, not the culprit. i can't tell you much except to do lots of water changes and hope for the best. good luck.

you can change water but in a none stressful way! keep lights off! and put black paper taped to the glass so it cant see out and this will minimize stress!

try those conditioners that keep stress down! and maybe so warmer water!

I concur, we need pics of the vic...

I hope you got to her in time.. i know they can look pretty stressed and still make it so hoping for the best.. good advice here.. good luck..

Attached is a photo of the victim. I have done a 50% water change and turned of the lights.

I have to agree it does not look good ...but maybe it took the wind out of her so we can still hope it looks worse then it is.... i really hope! Because it is very sad.. this is the exact thing i worry about when i get around to breeding my devils.. but this female looks way too young yet..
