exactly what happened to my RD pair 2 years ago.......the Male beat her up...... she died.... haven't decided to try to spwan RDs again

Sorry about your loss too.Another trick I use if the female fish is smaller use a large upside down clay pot that has holes that only the famale can fit through so she has somewhere to retreat when the male throws a fit.
