The temperature's not cold (?). They have the whole 55 to themselves with some Jurupari and plecos. They don't appear sluggish when they swim, but they do rest at the bottom like this quite a bit. And they were actually all here, when I peeled back the tape a few of them swam away.

Not quite sure what they are doing but I have the same gravel in my tank as you.

Has there been any loud noise or other disruptions lately? Any changes to the tank at all recently?

I recently (Sunday) removed the divider and the fish on the other side, but they have been doing this pretty much since I bought them, about a month ago.

what type of fish are they with and how big. it can also be your filter is to strong and just keeping them in the corner.if not i'd do a water change. good luck.

are they feeding well? any kind of anti-internal parasite treatment done while in quarantine?

How big are your EBs? How is their feeding response? What are the water parameters? What temp is not too cold? They look extremely stressed, how big are the Jurupari?

They are with:
2 colombian bristlenose plecos
1 l264 sultan pleco
3 2" jurupari

The temperature is 80 degrees. They have not been treated for any parasites. There is one that is significantly larger that swims around more. I have also seen them sometimes rubbing themselves against the gravel. The sizes range from about 1.25" to 2". I have the filter that came wit hteh aquarium on it, and h.o.t. magnum that i believe is designed for a 40gallon aquarium.

The juruparis do not show any sign of distress and swim around all the time. They respond very well to food, I feed them frozen blood worms, omega one flakes, and occasionally a few other kinds of frozen food (tubifex worms, krill, frozen brine shrimp) or hikari cichlid gold. I have also never seen stringy poop or anything like that.

You may just have some "whimpy EBJDs". The itching does bother me a little. I've got four that are between 2" and 2.5", and are constantly on the move, and never hide.

If you can, a UV Sterilizer on the tank would be a good precaution. With the price of your "kids" a UVS is worth it. Petsmart has in-tank models starting at $39.99.
