Any ideas for my the JD

Alright so i have my 55gal in my room with just 1 JD in it. Was planning on getting rid of him to a friend , but that plan fell through....


He is very cowardly and hides all the time. When i turn on the tank lights he takes off. I try to turn on lights in my room before so he will see me before i get to close and he is just scared of me. I will feed him with the lights on and he wont go up for pellets until i turn the lights off or i turn one side of the lights off... I got him 3 months ago and he was the biggest 1 in the tank and was most dominant, but now he is scared .

any help?

What are his tankmates? Do you have bright lighting or a lot of movement going by the tank? Depending on tankmates, a school of dither fish might bring him out to the open.

Well, you could get dither fish (tiger barbs, Giant danios, large tetras?) Might help him come out of his shell....BTW Cute German Shepherd

Thx he turned 11 wks old today! and i taught him to sit and lay down in 15 minutes



Anyway. He had 2 FM's and 4 malawi cichlids in with him. 2 malawi's beat up the others to death then my tank got ich and the last FM didn't survive. So it is just the JD and he is doing great now he will eat pellets , but only when im out of room and lights are off...

Again Ditherfish....My dog learned Sit and lay down in 5 minutes when he was 8 weeks old....ROFL JK, Shepherds are Very smart (if they weren't then cops would use poodles, No joke, Standards are scary)

I really kinda want just 1 big predatory fish. wanted an oscar but so many people complain that they need 75gal min. When i see them in smaller. This lady at walmart had 5 oscars in a 10 gal.....

sorry i just gotta brag but im a teen and i taught my yorkie puppy play dead in 15-20 minutes, with the whole bangbang thing! (and they say yorkies are stuborn!)
