I figure since the majority of MFK is older and probably wiser then me, you guys could give me some mature advice for what to do for my gf for our one year anni.

Keep in mind i am a unemployed college student but that doesnt mean i am broke.

I'm guessing dinner only won't cut it so i need to think of something else to do for her.

SoCal guys, have any places you recommend? Or anyone else with some cheesy ideas that girls like?

Ocean/Beach never fails, weather permitting. free too lol. Or maybe setting up a new 75g tank for her :naughty::ROFL:

I rented a limo 4 my gf's bday but if you cant do that just take her 2 a nice resturant and give her something simple that will mean a lot to her like a framed ticket stub from your first date or sumthin else sentimental

we live like 3 miles away from the beach so we are always there.. so that wouldn't be anything spectacular for her

:eek: That is the sweetest thing I have heard! Seriously, girls are sentimental, and we usually save these things - But if our guy saved them on his own and then did something like that, that would simply be amazing. It's the little things that count!

Since the weather has been so nice, why not pack a lunch (Old fashioned picnic style) and go to Carlsbad beach - Its usually NEVER populated with more than a handful of wanderers, the waters are soooooo clear, and the beach its self is just gorgeous. Have a picnic, play in the water, watch the sunset, then take her out somewhere interactive where you two can have fun. Be creative and different - go to a skating rink, bowling, a comedy show, or meet up with some friends for a fun night out.

Sure the whole dinner and roses thing is nice - But its something that is way over-played and takes no thought. Try something outside of the norm and make it unique, something she will remember and brag about - because if you do it right, she WILL brag, and will have a smile on her face for a long time.

Congrats by the way!:)

Edit: Posted after you so didn't see your comments. If you don't want to hit the beach, let me know what she DOES like.
Also, a scrapbook of your first year would be amazing... If she appreciates stuff like that. I know I would, it will let her know that those were all special memories and that you put a lot of time and energy into something unique and special just for her, and all about your relationship.

heh.. you know what? we were actually thinking about doing a picnic but we changed it because we figured it would be way too crowded but where is this carlsbad beach? I will have to look it up, i think that is something i could do.

as for the scrapbook i do actually keep every movie ticket stub and amusement park stub we have, the thing that sucks is we dont take alot of pictures so i really have no pictures to put in the scrapbook. :(

Then don't do a "scrap book" so to speak, instead, make her a collage or something and frame it, and put little quotes next to them, like of your favorite memory from that day.. Like if its from Seaworld, then put something like "The day your straps broke on your flip-flops and you got kissed by a dolphin"...(Of course that happened to me, lol but you get the picture, just add a little quote of something you remember from that day, doing that will make her remember it all over again and have her reminiscing all the special and fun times you have shared.)

OR.....just spend some time writing and tell her how you feel and how special she is to you. Don't make it sloppy!
