I personally like discus and would turn any tank into a discus tank. But, I've always like the look of arawanas and arapaimas. There's a lot of people that like rtc. You could work-in something like that.
Any Ideas or opinions?

@fibbingbear It's roughly 65 gals so a big no-no to arapaima, aro's or rtc's lol

I'm actually starting to think about doing a low tech planted tank with a full "carpet", something ive done before on a much smaller scale. Thinking about getting boeseman rainbowfish for it.
Heres whats done so far.
The rack with the 3x10gals cycling.
And heres the 65gal I put together

x2 on a bichir, a senegel would be very happy imo in a set-up like that. sound slike your a tera guy so a bichir would be very different for you. otehrwise a rainbow tank is always a show stopper. I miss my sens as they where very active and interactive fish... whenever they thought they could beg food from me they would!
I've had a senegal before, was the only fish my micro would let live with it lol Even though bichirs are cool, I don't want one for this tank.
I'm really thinking more along the lines of something I can breed as well.

blue rams, and BN plecos.. seem to be never enough depending on your area. around here they sell like hotcakes lol.
I'd go with the arapaima, arowana, and RTC idea. You've got plenty of room IMO. And use one of the 10's to grow out a gator gar so he doesn't get eaten.

Background is painted waiting for it to dry, I'll be putting it in the rack later today and filling the tank up tomorrow for a leak test. Got 2 hobs filtering on another tank in preparation, seeded them so won't be long till I put some fish in.
