I will ad that besides existing land turtles there are semi-aquatic tortoises
No tortoise can trully swim like a turtle, they basicly just float if they can or sink, so they avoid deeper waters at all costs but species like Manouria and Indotestudo love to soak in shallow water for extended periods of time when ever they can.
