Sounds fishy. Wonder what kind of filteration/how long tank was set up. If a new set up or under filtered would definitely cause problems.

He said the tank has been set up for awhile (Im not sure what the amount of time was, Im sure he told me but I cant remember honestly)
He has a wet/dry system for filtration. I asked him that this morning. His tank is drilled and overflow to a wet/dry system under the tank.

Agree, can't see how this could be your fault considering he had every opportunity to inspect the fish before taking them home.

It was nice of you to offer him a discount but I wouldn't offer up anything else

Dont consider this my fault. I cant control what people do after they leave here. I did offer a discount on another ray, but now not sure I even want to sale him another ray.
He got all the needed info from me bofore buying the fish. He knew what they ate, how often, how old they were .. what they like and dont.. etc..
He also just like you said, had plenty of time to check the fish out before buying and leaving here with them. I didnt meet him anywere, he came to my house. Just like I do with any of my fish I sale.. I welcome anyone to come by at anytime to take a look at my fish. Even if its just to look.
I take very good care of my guys and really that is my thing. I do nothing but work and take care of my fish and get online. (boring life I know..lol)
If I take a trip anywere, I have a person come feed my fish for me (a pet shop owner I trust very well) when i do travel.

It upsets me that my Aro died. I am not happy about the ray pup either, but was not as attached to her as I was the Aro. I had that fish for a long time. Two years of taking care of him, you grow an attachment to your guys. Every good fish owner does. I just hope the Clown Knife makes it ok. He said the Clown was eating good. Almost makes me want to just take him back.. But who knows what harm has been done to him in the last 5 days if there is something wrong with his tank..

I would be pissed as well the fact of the matter is he had a choice to take them and see them before purchasing and you are not a pet store and you cannot give him credit he prob got a great deal and he doesnt understand bio loads and how to care for new rays etc. just because he has another ray doesnt mean its not a matter of time when that one will die as well. Sounds to me his tank could have been cycled but in fact the water was bad. I wouldnt stress it out and I would stop all dealings with him again. Dont sweat it he has to live and learn and you learned not to deal with him again .

Dont know. Either way, he is not getting any money back nor any new fish to replace them if they did. Like I said, I told him Id give him a discount on another ray, but not even sure at this point if I even would want to sale another ray to him not knowing if his tank is ok and the ray would make it.

i wouldnt either. something just doesnt seem right about it.

sounds like he's trying to scam you. did he send you proof of death? (pics)
if he's texting you, chances are he can take a pic with the cell.
i wouldn't listen to his complaining, once he brought them home, they became his problem unless you declared a time guarantee.

Didnt send me pics.. So no proof of death.
No time guarantee.. So he is out of luck.

Not worried about him trying to get anything from me, just kinda pissed me off to hear they died..
