I know this is hard to see, but i you look into where the impeller would go, you see instead of a round hole, an almost figure 8. That's where the impeller wobbled and wore away the pump housing, making it useless.
This is a Mag 5.

another problem, is when the volute gets damaged

this is where a piece of gravel or snail was caught in the impeller and broke the volute, it is replaceable.

Not sure if you can really hear the sound right. I lost a Little giant pump like that I came home the system was stopped, I open the pump and the magnet actually exploded and the well where the impeller was was really jacked up.
