A week?! I'm sure if you asked them you one need them to come once a week for feeding and the occasional w/c they could give you a better price

Yeah probably a joke, all your fish would be dead from the ammonia. So you have no friends who keep fish that could give you a hand?

You don't need anyone to feed them or change your water. Your gf feeding them will probably do more harm than good bc people who don't know about fish will always overfeed. I don't trust anyone in my house either. So i wouldn't hire a company to feed them.

Just get an automatic feeder and set it to a low setting, just a little bit of food every day. Your fish can survive much longer with low food / clean water than much food / dirty water. Seems like you have big fish so I'd say they'd be fine even without food for a week or more . And also I'd add an aerator and as much filtration as you can. A couple sponge filters and a hob filter would be perfect.

6 weeks a pretty long time. If you have no one who can come by once a week to feed them. I have seen people take there fish to there LFS for them to watch them while on vacation.

I too..........I have seen fish being "babysitted" at the local fish store............Probably $20-30 a week............Only because the fish space they are taking up can be for fish they can sell(plus the food and water changes)...............

Do a nice water change and gravel vac right b4 you leave. Get a auto feeder and test it out before hand. Have it feed very little 3 times a week or depending on the model even less everyday. 6 weeks is not too bad for those hardy fish IMO, but I could be wrong. Now if the RTC can fit the other fish in its mouth, then this will not work out without losing a fish or two.

I just moved down from NJ to FL for a little while now and I don't really trust anyone at my work yet...plus I don't really like having other people mess with my stuff you know? But if I was in new jersey if it was my only option of having someone take care of my fish I know tons of people that would help me

yeah im gonna have to look into that, im not really worried about my RTC eating my other fish, but if it does happen im SOL :(

Well really those 3 fish are not that rare. You could just sell or trade them to your LFS. When you get back by some new ones. Or just see what happens they could all make it 6 weeks without eating..
yeah i think i might just sell them back to the petstore idk yet ahah
